Curious about how coaching can help you reach your goals?
The mostly commonly asked questions and answers break down what to expect, how we work together, and why this process might be the spark you’re looking for—let’s make it happen!
Let’s dive in, shall we?
Book a free call todayWhat is the difference between coaching and therapy?
While both are based on confidentiality, they are quite different. Rather than talking about your problems, we talk about your solutions.
Therapy is about acceptance and healing; coaching is about finding a flow and evolving. Therapy is reactionary; coaching is responsive. Therapy is digging into painful things from your past and processing your feelings, but coaching is chasing exciting things in your future and setting goals and then smashing them! It’s a co-creative growth spurt!
How much do coaching sessions cost?
This varies wildly. 1 on 1 coaching is more costly than group coaching. If you commit to a coaching package, it’s more economical than individual sessions.
If you are under-employed and struggling financially, reach out to me and we will figure something out. My goal is to help people, and I’m confident we can find a plan that works for you.
What is the difference between success coaching and consulting?
The simplest way to answer this is that in coaching, the client comes up with their own solutions and implements them after I ask them a series of questions. In consulting, you would present something to me that you were struggling with, and I would offer an opinion. An opinion you would either take or reject. I have consulted extensively in my corporate career and I’m more than happy to put on my consultant hat if that’s what you feel is most beneficial for you. You can learn more about me on the About page.
How many sessions do I need before I see results?
This depends on what your goals are and how committed you are to achieving them. Some clients take action almost immediately while others are resistant and require more coaching. On average, I would say 3 – 6 months, based on two sessions per month. If you opt for a more intensive coaching regimen, it could happen faster and then you may just need the odd touch up session down the road.
Can I contact you between sessions?
Yes, I will respond to emails between sessions if you need clarification on anything we spoke about in a coaching session.
Can you spell out what typically happens in a coaching session so I know what to expect?
Generally, the first 10-15 minutes of the 1st meeting would be discussing your goals & what you have accomplished thus far.
At this point, we are both assessing whether the fit is right. Am I the right coach to help you? Generally, and this is anecdotal, the more “I don’t knows” you say, the less ready you may be for coaching. In a typical session, we would begin with you letting me know what’s happened since we last spoke. Wins? False starts? Setbacks? Should we pivot?
I’ll ask questions designed to help you drill down on your goals. Coaching in this space is similar to coaching sports: I can’t do the sport for you, but I can help you hone your strengths, skills, and the mindset to help you win. I will cheer you from the sidelines.
Ultimately though, you have to find a path that you are 1) comfortable with, 2) that you are able to follow, & 3) has a realistic timeline.
